AXYS Welcomes Richard Khaira-Creswell to the Executive TeamOctober 21, 2019
New Director of Project Management Office Will Build from FLiDAR and Metocean Data Campaign Success
Sidney, British Columbia, October 21, 2019 – AXYS, a global provider of data monitoring solutions and turnkey offshore monitoring campaigns, is pleased to announce the addition of Richard Khaira-Creswell as the Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) and Senior Principle Metocean Engineer. The PMO at AXYS coordinates efforts company-wide to help the company meet and exceed their clients’ Floating LiDAR and Metocean campaign project expectations. In this role, Richard oversees a team of project managers who work closely with client teams, internal groups and external partners to ensure AXYS provides accurate, reliable and complete data sets during its turnkey data campaigns — even in the face of harsh ocean conditions.
“We are excited to welcome Richard to the AXYS team,” said PS Reilly, CEO and President of AXYS. “Providing the right data at the right time takes not only superior technology, but also a strong Project Management Office to coordinate efforts and de-risk our FLiDAR® and Metocean campaigns. Richard has both the metocean knowledge and “boots on the ground” experience to lead the PMO and make sure we continue to bring the best-in-class value and bankability to our clients’ data campaigns.”
Khaira-Creswell is a seasoned metocean project manager with extensive experience with floating LiDAR and metocean technologies used to support key financial, operational and design decisions with robust high-quality data. A chartered scientist, marine scientist and marine technologist with IMaREST, Richard has a commitment to help advancing the industry. Khaira-Creswell has previously worked with Fugro and, most recently, Ørsted as Senior Metocean Engineer with the Measurements Team.
“During his time at Orsted, Richard was a positive external influence on AXYS as we matured our technology, strengthened our project management, and built a system of safe offshore and field practices to our clients’ exacting HSE standards,” said Reilly. “He now joins a solid team of data, operations and HSE experts in the firm as we continue to improve and innovate in everything we do.”
AXYS has been providing remote environmental data collection systems for forty-five years, with solutions known world-wide for their accuracy and reliability in the face of extreme conditions. The AXYS FLIDAR® buoys were first to the market ten years ago to drastically improve the economics of offshore wind assessment, and the AXYS fleet now has over 50 years of campaign months in the water collecting data for investment-grade wind resource assessment for leading developers around the globe. The FLIDAR® and other AXYS Metocean Buoys have successfully gathered data through major weather events with high winds, waves and currents — including typhoons, hurricanes, bomb cyclones, monsoons and more. AXYS data has already been used by clients in multiple cases to complete significant project milestones, close lease area awards, and secure project financing.
“These are incredibly exciting times for offshore development as we transition to a green economy, and we need reliable and accurate data to accelerate this progress,” says Richard Khaira-Creswell. “The level of redundancy and system integration in AXYS FLiDAR and wave buoy systems provides an unprecedented level of control for our clients to secure robust, high quality Metocean data. From this quality starting point, the PMO establishes and reinforces best practice in everything we do across the organisation to support those systems to ensure we get the best campaign results for our Clients.”
