AXYS Technologies Inc. (AXYS) Announces the Delivery and Installation of AWOS to Fairview Municipal Airport

March 25, 2009

AXYS Technologies Inc. (AXYS) announced today that it has recently delivered and installed an automated weather observation system called the WxSentinel™ to Fairview Municipal Airport in Alberta.

The AXYS WxSentinel™ is an automated weather observation station capable of withstanding extreme conditions in remote locations. The Fairview station incorporates an AXYS WatchMan500™ data acquisition system to transmit real time weather information via phone line and VHF telemetry to arriving and departing aircraft. AXYS WxView™ display software will also be used for ground weather observations and pilot flight planning.

AXYS Customer Service Specialist, Bruce Cayford, installed the system in conjunction with Fairview Airport Utilities Officer, Norbert Luken. “We chose AXYS to support our new GPS approach, and the installed system works great and has received a very positive response,” says Mr. Luken of the AXYS WxSentinel™.

Fairview Municipal Airport handles high priority medical evacuations and transfers and therefore requires a comprehensive monitoring system for pilots to understand the current weather conditions and make timely and safe decisions.
