Marketing Lead

The role encompasses a variety of tasks and requires a multitude of skills – perfect for someone who likes to manage a diverse set of activities.

The Marketing Lead is responsible for product sales performance via successful implementation of marketing & sales strategies for the company’s products & services. This includes managing the development and implementation of the company’s corporate communications and marketing communications programs. He/she is responsible to work within approved budgets and to work cooperatively with affiliated departments to plan and execute strategies, tactics, activities and materials for the purpose of conveying the most positive marketing message and strengthening the company’s image and reputation to target markets and constituents.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing role

» Market Initiatives & Lead Generation

• Support sales team with inbound lead generation & management
• Work with sales team on new sales campaigns by assisting with planning, management, marketing support, tracking and reporting
• Grow inbound leads through increased online presence
• Website Management: ensure new content is added regularly, implement fixes and general maintenance
• Maintain social media sites/groups and professional platforms and provide regular content from internal experts on industry-related topics

» RFP response management & support

• Work with others to frame RFP responses and lead internal efforts to complete relevant documents
• Support funding applications across various programs (CanExport, BC Government Climate Leadership program, SADI, etc)

» Media & Communications

• Write, distribute and manage all external communications with regard to news, social media, newsletters, customer notifications, etc
• Plan interviews and press conferences
• Maintain a target press list and potential story lines

» Sales Tools & Marketing Materials

• Create new tools & materials and maintain existing ones as required, including Brochures, Presentations, Case Studies, Technical Proposal Templates, Articles & White Papers, Quote Templates, Posters, Banners, and all corporate literature
• Maintain standard product information & disseminate to team
• Manage all new product and mini-product development launches
• Support the marketing communication plans and execution for all new product and mini-product development launches

» Brand Management

• Maintain the AXYS brand identity standards and ensure consistent usage across all company communications, and particularly all external communication

» Tradeshow & Event Management and Tracking

• Manage tracking of potential events, coordinate with the sales team and management for approval of events
• Coordinate arrangements for all events – registration, booth selection/shipping, etc.

» Marketing Strategies

• Write, implement and track marketing strategies for specific market segments and/or regions
• Track ROI for marketing campaigns
• Gather customer feedback to inform sales and product teams

Other Responsibilities

» Office management support when required (admin duties)

• Set up all-hands quarterly meetings
• Assist with remote meeting support
• Manage & work with vendors for purchasing marketing & promotional materials


» Bachelor degree in Marketing/Business/Communications or related field
» Minimum of 3 years marketing/sales experience
» Proficient in MS Office suite
» Excellent organizational skills & an aptitude to follow through
» Drive to take initiative and make continual improvements
» Excellent written and communications skills
» Strong attention to detail and a need for accuracy
» Comfortable working independently as well as with a diverse and geographically disparate team
» Extremely reliable

Additional Desired Skills

» Experienced with social media for B2B applications, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter
» Software experience:
• CRM and/or ERP software – Salesforce a Plus
• Adobe Creative Suite
• WordPress
• Email marketing software
• Web meeting software
